Keswick book place in Whitehaven Cup semi-final

Keswick have booked a semi-final slot in the County League’s Whitehaven Cup.

They beat Cleator Moor Celtic reserves 3-0 with goals from Alfie West (2) and Bradley Fearns and will meet Whitehaven Miners Social in the semi-final.

Cockermouth went another step closer to promotion and the title in the Cumberland County League Division One thanks to a 5-2 win against Mirehouse.

Luke Graham scored a hat-trick with Max Pickering and Kane Tinnion also banging goals for Cockermouth. Mirehouse goal scorers were Callum Wilson and Callum Killick.

With three games to go Cockermouth are now five points clear of second placed Keswick who still have five games left to play.

Elsewhere, Owen Bell with a double and Kieren Frazer helped Windscale Reserves to a 3-2 win against Dearham United in the Divisional Cup Group B. Danny Manchester and Jack Brown were Dearham goal scorers.

Tonight Wigton Harriers and Maryport Athletic meet in the Benevolent Cup final at Gillford Park, Carlisle, kick-off 7pm.
